Warranty Registration
To register the warranty agreement, water craft owner (You) should mail the top white copy of the warranty registration form (Part 1 -Declaration Page) and a photocopy of the engine installation/engine rebuild work order/invoice to the Warranty Provider- Engine Pro Protection Plan, Inc.; 4891 Independence St. Ste 155; Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. The warranty registration form must be submitted to Engine Pro Protection Plan within 15 days of the date engine/boat is delivered to craft owner.
Coverage Section
Term of Coverage (refer to your warranty registration form to determine Your plan)
PLATINUM Warranty- Coverage begins on the date the engine/boat is delivered to the owner. Coverage will extend for 24 months following the date the vehicle is delivered to the owner, and without hour limitation..
Engine/Watercraft Coverage and Exclusions
Coverage is provided for personal use, privately owned water craft up to 35' with gasoline powered engines not exceeding 8 cylinders.Coverage is intended for inboard engines only.. Diesel, Natural Gas and other non-gasoline engines are not covered. Turbo equipped engines are not covered. Coverage is provided for Original Equipment (O.E.)specification stock replacement parts/components and excludes performance enhancements except rv/torquer camshafts and high volume oil pumps which will be covered.
What is Covered
Coverage includes reasonable and customary costs to repair or replace any covered parts listed in this Limited Warranty, including parts, labor, and fluids if required due to a Mechanical Breakdown. A Mechanical Breakdown is defined as a failure of a covered part or faulty workmanship as originally supplied by the engine builder. This Limited Warranty does not include coverage for the gradual reduction in operating performance due to wear and tear. You must maintain the engine in accordance with the requirements outlined below to keep this Limited Warranty in force. If requested, evidence of proper service must be provided in event of a claim.
Covered Parts
All internal lubricated parts including: pistons, pins, piston rings, connecting rods, crankshaft, rod bearings, main bearings, oil pump, timing gears, timing chain or belt, timing tensioners and dampers, camshaft, cam bearings, followers, lifters and push rods. The engine block is also covered if damaged by the failure of a covered internally lubricated part. The cylinder heads and related components including rocker arms, rocker shafts and bushings, valves, valve springs, guides, seats are also covered, if the cylinder head(s) and/or failed component(s) were replaced or renewed at time of the engine rebuild. All gaskets and seals designed to retain fluids or lubricants that were installed as part of the engine rebuild are covered for a period of 12 months or 500 hours from date engine/boat is delivered to craft owner. Coverage includes fluids (oil and oil filter) when required as part of a covered repair. All part replacement will be made with like kind and quality and may be made with appropriately rebuilt or reclaimed parts by authorization of the Administrator.
Service Advisory
To ensure full benefit from this Limited Warranty, we strongly suggest periodic inspection of non-covered water craft engine systems critical to the life expectancy and performance of the engine. Therefore, along with the oil/filter changes outlined below, we recommend periodic inspection of the water craft’s engine cooling, ignition and fuel systems. Damage resulting from these non-covered water craft systems and maintenance items will not be covered by this Limited Warranty. Please refer to the Maintenance Requirements section, listed below.
What is Not Covered
· Any Mechanical Breakdown occurring outside the term of the warranty.
· Any repair not first authorized by the Administrator
· Any repair required because of collision, abuse, overheating or operation without proper lubrication or coolant, improper fuel supply/adjustment, improper distributor/ignition timing including pre-ignition/detonation, water conditions, misuse, negligence, mechanical alterations, racing, accidents, fires, floods, riots, acts of God, vandalism, upset, theft or lack of reasonable or proper maintenance.
· Any loss or expense if the hourmeter is non-existing, inoperative, tampered with, or altered.
· Any repair for the purpose of correcting the engine compression or oil consumption when a Mechanical Breakdown has not occurred.
· Any gradual reduction in operating performance due to wear and tear.
· Any damage to non-covered part(s) caused by a Covered Part(s) failure or any damage to Covered Part(s) caused by a non-covered part(s).
· Any Covered Part or non-covered part which has not failed but which a repair facility recommends or requires to be repaired
or replaced.
· Any routine adjustments and/or tune-ups.
· Any Mechanical Breakdown outside the United States and Canada
· Any water craft used for generating income and/or registered for a commercial service; ferry; charter; commercial fishing
boat, etc.
· Any water craft used by or registered to a government agency.
· Any water craft over 35' in total length.
· Any identified and specifically excluded engine/water craft (see Engine/Water craft Coverage and Exclusions)
Maintenance Requirements
To ensure full benefit from this Limited Warranty the warranty provider recommends periodic inspection of those service items critical to the life expectancy and performance of the engine. Along with normal servicing and inspection, You must have the engine oil and oil filter changed every four (4) months or 40 hours, whichever comes first. You are obligated to keep all receipts and work orders
showing the date and hour meter reading when services were performed. If you perform your own oil changes, You must keep all oil and oil filter purchase receipts and an oil change log including date and mileage at which oil and filter were changed. If requested, evidence of proper service must be provided in the event of a claim.
Limit of Liability
The total of all benefits paid or payable under this Limited Warranty shall be the price You paid for the engine and installation, not to exceed $3,000. If the engine was not installed by a certified technician and/or a licensed repair facility, the limit of liability will be the rice You paid for the rebuilt engine, not to exceed $2,500. Coverage on these engines will include engine repair costs only (no engine removal and/or reinstallation costs) and the engine must be returned to the original engine builder for warranty review and repair. In all
cases, claim analysis and covered repairs must be conducted by an Administrator approved and certified repair facility. The Administrator reserves the right to move the engine/water craft to an alternate repairing facility. The engine/water craft transport costs, if any, will be the responsibility of the warranty provider. Any liability for incidental and consequential damage including, but not limited to property damage, damage to a non-covered part(s), loss of use, towing charges, rental craft charges, repair delays, loss of time, inconvenience and commercial loss resulting from the operation, maintenance or use of the described engine or a breach of any
implied warranties arising from operation by law, is expressly excluded.
In the Event of a Breakdown
If a breakdown occurs, contact the Administrator, Warranty America, at 1-800-364-4638 for assistance and authorization prior to proceeding with any repair.Please remember that unauthorized repairs are not covered. Evidence of proper service must be provided, if requested, in the event of a claim. You assume all liability for inspection and/or teardown costs for non-covered parts and all unauthorized repairs.
Transfer of Warranty
This agreement is transferable, one time only, to a second owner upon payment of a $35.00 transfer fee to Engine Pro Protection Plan. Transfer fee must be received by Engine Pro Protection Plan within 30 days of water craft sale.This is a non-insurance warranty provided by Engine Pro Protection Plan, Inc. and administered by Warranty America, LLC.
